The UN Music Club was invited to participate in the programme for the 2010 International Day of Peace, held this year on Tuesday, 21 September, at the Palais des Nations. The event was co-sponsored by the Spanish Society for International Human Rights Law (AEDIDH) and Non-Governmental Liaison Unit of the United Nations Office at Geneva, and was held in the context of an NGO forum during the session of the Council on Human Rights.

The musical contribution to this year’s programme was provided by the Club’s Chamber Music Trio:

Kiyoshi Adachi - violin
Jay Wormus - flute
Jan Knoerich - cello

The Trio opened the ceremony with a performance of the Adagio cantabile & Allegro movements of Haydn’s Divertimento no.1  in D major. Following the statements by the distinguished panel of speakers, the trio closed the meeting with the Allegro movement from Mozart's Trio no. 1 in C major.

Here are audio clips of the performance.
